For Professionals

Earthbound works alongside professionals who support individuals and families at some of life’s most sensitive moments.

We offer a considered option for families who are considering the next steps for cremated remains once formal arrangements are complete.

There is no obligation to refer, recommend, or actively present Earthbound. Where families express interest, Earthbound may be mentioned as an option. Responsibility passes to us only if families choose to proceed, at which point we manage all communication directly. Clear written materials are available for professionals who wish to share them, and we are always happy to discuss how Earthbound can sit most appropriately within your setting.

A continuation
of care, where responsibility often returns

For many families, the return of cremated remains marks a difficult transition. Formal arrangements conclude, yet important questions may remain unresolved. Responsibility is returned at a point when emotional and cognitive capacity may be limited. Earthbound exists to support this stage by offering a clear, structured way forward, should families wish to explore it.

Thoughtful Collaboration

Designed to sit alongside established practice

Earthbound is not intended to replace existing arrangements, beliefs, or professional guidance. It may be introduced, where appropriate, as an option for families who are considering the next steps for cremated remains, and can sit alongside burial, scattering, and other forms of remembrance.

Clear responsibility and lawful handling

Where cremated remains are entrusted to Earthbound, responsibility is clearly and lawfully transferred. If remains are held by a funeral home, families complete the required authorisation documentation before confirming their arrangement. Earthbound then liaises directly with the funeral home to arrange collection once all legal requirements are satisfied. Where collection is arranged from a private residence, families are asked to confirm in writing that they have the legal authority to place the cremated remains into our care. At no point are professionals asked to mediate this process or assume responsibility beyond their existing role.

Supporting informed decision-making

By offering a clearly defined option, Earthbound can support professionals in providing thoughtful, comprehensive guidance to those in their care. This can be particularly relevant in settings where individuals are asked to make advance decisions regarding post-mortem arrangements, or where families seek reassurance that choices made now can be resolved gently later.

Appropriate across professional settings

Earthbound works with and alongside funeral directors, hospices, care homes, solicitors,
estate-planning professionals, and aftercare or bereavement services. Our language and materials are designed to be discreet, optional, and supportive of professionals in providing first-class care.

A considered professional relationship
Earthbound values the experience and judgement of the professionals we work alongside. We welcome dialogue shaped by professional insight, and we are committed to working in a way that respects existing responsibilities, boundaries, and standards of care.
