Receive Your Memorial Preparation Kit

Earthbound sends a memorial preparation kit containing:

  • measuring spoon
  • keepsake/scattering tube
  • instructions
  • prepaid return
  • packaging

Return Ashes

We will send you a preparation kit for you to measure a small amount of ashes. Simply return using the enclosed prepaid return label. Full instructions for preparing and returning the ashes are included within the memorial preparation kit

Your memorial is carefully prepared

Ashes are highly alkaline and cannot simply be mixed directly into soil without affecting the long-term health of a plant.

Once received, the ashes are carefully incorporated into specially prepared memorial soil and allowed to stabilise before planting takes place.

The chosen memorial tree is then planted, monitored and nurtured prior to delivery to help ensure it is healthy, established and ready to thrive.

Each memorial is individually prepared and monitored before being returned home to the family, approximately 4 weeks after our receipt of the ashes.

Arranging A Memorial For Someone Else

Some families choose to arrange a companion memorial as a thoughtful gift for a partner, parent, child, friend or family member following the loss of a companion animal. Where appropriate, memorials can be delivered directly to the recipient together with all materials required to complete the memorial process.

What happens to the remaining ashes?

The remaining ashes stay with the family. A keepsake/scattering tube is included should you wish to scatter them separately.

What if the memorial tree dies?

Tree-specific care guidance and ongoing support are provided with every memorial.

As only a small portion of ashes is incorporated into the memorial, another memorial can still be created in the future if required.

Can memorial pages be shared with family members?

Yes. Companion memorial pages can be shared with invited family members and can also connect to existing Earthbound memorial pages where appropriate.
