Randell Design Group is an award-winning firm of architects and interior designers based in Chichester, working across premium residential projects in southern England and beyond. Their interiors team work at the level of detail where architecture and soft furnishings meet — and it is a level I find genuinely satisfying to work at.
Over several years of collaboration, I have been called upon for a wide variety of work: bespoke headboards, cushions, the restoration of antique chairs, and pieces made to fit interiors that are often still under construction when the commission begins. Many projects are subject to strict confidentiality agreements, which I manage carefully and take seriously.
What makes this relationship work is a shared commitment to getting the details right. I can work from an outline sketch or early drawing — which matters enormously on large residential projects where spaces are still evolving — and then develop the final specification in close dialogue with the design team, often through site visits as the project progresses. It is a flexible, iterative way of working that suits the scale and ambition of these commissions.
The work continues beyond the initial installation. As clients settle into their homes, further pieces are added and existing ones refined — a process that reflects Randell Design Group’s own approach of staying close to a project through every stage.
