Hilda’s Lounge undertakes a wide variety of upholstery work, working directly with private clients and interior designers alike. From domestic recovering projects and full traditional restorations to bespoke pieces built entirely from scratch, the breadth of work is part of what makes it interesting.

If it is upholstered, it is worth an enquiry. Over the years this has included antique chair restorations, bespoke headboards, dining chairs, marine and vehicle upholstery, and one-off commissions that do not fit neatly into any category. Each project is approached with the same care and craft, regardless of scale.

At this stage I have worked on more pieces of furniture than I can count, and much of what I do has become second nature. But it is the stories behind the furniture that stay with me. Clients come to me for advice and expertise, but I am always looking back at them, curious about their personal tastes, their expectations, and what a piece means to them.

Unusual or challenging briefs are always welcome. Some of the most rewarding work begins with a request that has no obvious answer.
