Do they have enough tread on the tyre? Any cuts or damage?<\/li><li>Seat &#8211; is it the right height and it is not going to move or twist?\u00a0<\/li><li>Spokes &#8211; once you get your panniers on your bag carrier, it will put pressure on your spokes, so make sure you check none are missing or broken.<\/li><li>Brakes &#8211; do you have enough on the brake pads that they won\u2019t need changed when you are on route?<\/li><li>Nuts &amp; bolts &#8211; check everything is tightened up.<\/li><li>Bell &#8211; make sure your bell works, you may well need it on a cycle path to let walkers know you are there. <\/li><li>Computer &#8211; your computer should be working properly, if you have a slight concern, get it checked by your local bike shop before you go.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"display:block;width:100%;height:40px;\"><\/div> \n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-medium\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/2design.co\/ebike\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/IMG_5972-225x300-1.jpeg\" alt=\"Buchensteinwand\" class=\"wp-image-2013\"\/><figcaption>Bike check should be part of your preparation<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"display:block;width:100%;height:40px;\"><\/div> \n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-heading\">Ebike set up<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you have never gone on a multiple day ebike tour, then I would recommend that you go to your local bike shop and ensure your bike is set up properly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Your position &#8211; They can check how you are positioned on your bike. This will save you lots of aches and pains especially in your shoulders and your back.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Saddle &#8211; I have a very comfortable saddle on my ebike as I am above average BMI. If I were to sit on a \u2018normal\u2019 saddle, I would have all sorts of pain. So my SQ Lab saddle was measured and picked out for my bottom size. It was a little embarrassing but not as embarrassing as being unable to sit down for dinner after a long bike ride.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"display:block;width:100%;height:20px;\"><\/div> \n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-medium\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/ebike-europe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/08\/799717EE-A5DA-41C9-8C4D-BCE396C9581D-e1534789923662-225x300.jpeg\" alt=\"Saddle\" class=\"wp-image-410\"\/><figcaption>Saddle comfort is key<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"display:block;width:100%;height:20px;\"><\/div> \n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Peddles &#8211; I will admit to being a bit clumsy and the original pedals were metal with teeth sticking up. These help keep my foot from slipping off the pedal. After several bruises, cuts and a lot of swearing I had plastic pedals fitted. They still have the sticky up bits so my foot doesn\u2019t slip off. I have trainers with a good sole on them. The result is a lot less swearing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tyres &#8211; Learn how to take off your front and back wheels in the case of a flat tyre. If you are going to fix it yourself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Battery &#8211; make sure you know how to remove the battery as well as how to charge it properly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This will ensure you have a great start to your trip and should you have a mechanical issue on the route, then find a local bike shop to get it fixed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-medium\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/2design.co\/ebike\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/29D28BF3-7D47-43AC-89EB-2B377C2527C7-225x300-1.jpeg\" alt=\"Hai bike, Saalach\" class=\"wp-image-1450\"\/><figcaption>Get comfy for a longer tour<\/figcaption><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-heading\">If you want more info on ebiking, this a great magazine.
